Barbara Niven is an American actress, writer, and producer who is well-known for her works in the Hallmark and Lifetime movies and also for her TV roles in Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Cedar Cove, Chesapeake Shores, and One Life to Live.

She has the leading role in her independent movie called A Perfect Ending in the year of 2012. Not just stopping actress and other things she does as mentioned she is also a motivational speaker,  media trainer and also animal rights activist, and a National Ambassador for the American Humane.

Hallmark Channel hired Barbara Niven for the movie Promise in 1986. Which was her first Hallmark movie, where she worked with popular actors James Garner and James Woods. Her role as Joan was praised by audiences.

Later she worked in many popular Hallmark Channel movies and series like A Carol Christmas, A Christmas Detour, The Christmas Contest, Chesapeake Shores, andA Hannah Swensen Mystery, etc.

Barbara Niven was born on February 26, 1953, in Portland, Oregon, USA. Her birth name is Barbara Lee Bucholz.

Barbara was married to Ronald Garrison on November 30, 1974, and they later divorced. She then married David Alexander on May 4, 1985, and they also divorced. Later, Diven Niven Jr. became her husband from June 19, 1993, until 1998, but they, too, got divorced.

She also has a daughter Jessica. She studies in the Milton Katselas at The Beverly Hills Playhouse. Barbara has her own official website which she not so often yet communicates with her fan people. She has dual citizenship which is of the US and Canadian.

She speaks at seminars and also about her personal struggle she had to overcome an eating disorder. And she was an exceptional student. When she was in her third grade she had done a lot of extra credit work and was suffering from migraines.

So her teacher and principal met with her parents and exempted her from doing furthermore homework that year. She had her daughter Jessica when she was young. Barbara was doing movies for both Hallmark and Lifetime and also special guest appearances on popular TV series like Cold Case in the year of 2003 and Mystery Woman: Wild West Mystery in the year of 2006 and Las Vegas in the year of 2002.

She wrapped up filming the Heat Wave in the year 2009 and her daughter was married to Derek who is a band member they have children named River and Sasha.

Barbara Niven went to see the news director at KFW in Portland and also asked to make sample stories to critique. She has also promised to pay for it if she had a successful career. So she got a typical script and later got hired as an intern and her story on the White House Easter Egg Roll made the network news.
