Early life, Family, and Relationship
Barrell was born on February 12, 1990, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her mother is Slovenian. She attended Assumption Catholic Secondary School in Burlington, Ontario.
During her time at school, she played lead roles in two school plays. She also collaborated with a friend on a play they wrote, directed, and acted in together. Additionally, she directed the school play “The Wizard of Oz.” Barrell was also a member of Burlington Student Theatre for two years.
After school, she studied musical theatre at Sheridan College. She was then transferred to George Brown College where she studied filmmaking.
Barrell studied acting at the School of Media & Performing Arts, where she graduated in 2010. She also trained at The Groundings Comedy School.
