Story of Hallmark Film Autumn In The City

The movie is set in beautiful New York City during the fall. Piper Grant (Aimee Teegarden), an optimistic artist, is fired from her first job. She then moves to New York City looking for a fresh start. She gives herself two months to find her passion in New York and figure out her life. Piper believes that there is beauty in everything and the city is full of possibilities.

She takes up a few temp jobs all over the city and meets different people. She also meets her neighbor Austin Edwards (Evan Roderick), an aspiring writer. He has a jaded personality and sees things half-empty. Austin’s aim in life is to make a name of his own without the influence of his mother who is a renowned journalist!

Both Piper and Austin are two opposites in personality and they start off on the wrong foot! They don’t like each other in the beginning. Eventually, they both come together and realize that they are each other’s allies. The magical autumn in the city brings both Piper and Austin together. Piper realizes that her passion is illustrations. Both Piper and Austin team up to work on a children’s book project and discover the beauty of the city together.

1 Aimee Teegarden

Aimee Richelle Teegarden is an American model, actress, and film producer. She is well-known for her role as Julie Taylor, in the NBC drama series Friday Night Lights and as Nikki in The Ranch from 2016 to 2017.

Teegarden’s first Hallmark movie was Once Upon A Christmas Miracle in 2018. She played the role of Heather Krueger. The holiday romance is based on the incredible story of organ donor Chris Dempsey and recipient Heather Krueger.

The couple is brought into one another’s lives by a transplant surgery that leads to a miraculous romance. In 2021, she appeared in the Hallmark movie My Christmas Family Tree. She also appeared in Heart of the Matter movies and A New Year’s Resolution. Read Full Bio

2 Evan Roderick Anderson

Evan Roderick Anderson is a talented Canadian actor, producer and former ice hockey player. He began acting as a professional after playing high-level hockey for several years, including three seasons in the BCHL, by which time he had received a Part 1 scholarship to play for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in the NCAA.

As he had a series of injuries, Roderick decided to quit hockey and moved on to his true passion for the performing arts. After that, he starred in lots and lots of big productions, both in films and on television.

Evan Roderick was born on June 29, 1995, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and has an older brother, Stuart.
