Clara’s school project sets up her divorced father David Martinez (Nicholas Gonzalez) with her newly single middle school teacher Kerri Fox (Laura Vandervoort). Cupid puts Kerri, David and Clara in tight spots. And Clara’s grades are suffering as it hinges on the success of her matchmaking project.

As a teacher, Kerri believes in her students and has total faith in their passion. Though Kerri supports Clara’s creative business project, David is skeptical. Meanwhile, David’s ex-girlfriend is concerned about his ability to be a good parent to Clara and is pushing to move Clara to Texas. Kerri is pondering moving back home to be closer to family.
