Holland Roden Biography (Age, Height, Weight, Husband, Family, Career & Hallmark Movies)
Roden, who was born and raised in Dallas, Texas on October 7, 1986, was attracted to the arts from a young age. At the age of six, Holland was captivated by the “Queen of England,” and she would perform one-woman shows for her family, copying her beloved monarch.
Holland took her love of performing a step further by enrolling in theatrical camps and acting lessons to better her career. But it was Holland’s second interest, science, that drove her to Los Angeles and launched her career.
Holland Roden is no stranger to primetime television, having appeared on hit shows such as Lost (2004), Weeds (2005), and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000).
She can currently be seen starring as “Lydia Martin” in MTV Network’s most successful scripted series, Teen Wolf (2011). Holland plays the popular girl Lydia Martin, who the actress describes as a cross between Tracy Flick’s IQ (Election (1999)) and Violet Beauregarde’s spunk (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)).
Holland enrolled at UCLA as a molecular biology major and realized after one year that she wanted to return to her passion for acting. Holland’s first big break came two months after she hired an agent: a recurring role on HBO’s 12 Miles of Bad Road (2007). Holland experienced the highs and lows of the entertainment industry early on, witnessing how a promising show could be canceled before its premiere.
She persisted, however, and went on to appear as a guest star on shows like The Event (2010), Cold Case (2003), Community (2009), and Criminal Minds (2005), as well as a lead in the cult classic franchise: Bring It On: Fight to the Finish (2009). Holland recently took a break from “Teen Wolf” to film a guest star episode on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (2005) and a leading role in an independent horror film titled House of Dust (2013), which is currently in post-production.
Despite pursuing her dream of becoming an actor, Holland remained committed to her education as a full-time student. However, due to Holland’s hectic work schedule, she was forced to make the difficult decision of switching majors, abandoning her love of science and majoring in women’s studies, a field Holland found surprisingly fascinating and in which she received her degree from UCLA.
Holland spends her free time exploring the world of music, in contrast to her professional and academic lives. Holland is a music enthusiast through and through, whether she’s discovering new indie musicians or listening to her all-time faves like Ingrid Michaelson, Josh Rouse, Cat Stevens, Mumford & Sons, and Crash Kings.

Early Life, Family, and Relationship
Roden was born in Dallas, Texas, and attended the all-girls private school Hockaday School. She grew up in a medical household and majored in molecular biology and women’s studies at UCLA before deciding to pursue a career as a cardiothoracic surgeon full-time.
Roden was seized by Brazilian officials at the Sao Paulo-Congonhas Airport in So Paulo, Brazil, on May 17, 2019. Immigration officers refused her admission into the nation because she had an expired Brazilian visa. Roden alleged that she was treated as a criminal and that she was refused food and drink despite having displayed a valid passport and visa.
She was permitted to enter the nation after around 24 hours of incarceration. She was critical of how she was treated: “After two years of going to Brazil with this passport and visa without incident to meet fans and establish friends, I am surprised by the allegations and treatment I received today from Brazilian police. I can’t believe this is the same Brazil I know and love.”
