Saskia Hampele was born in Perth, Western Australia. She grew up in a musical family, as her mother was a musician. From a young age, Saskia developed a strong interest in acting, singing, dancing, and music. As a teenager, she appeared in commercials, short films, and community television.

Saskia attended Perth Modern School on a music scholarship. She later completed a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours. She also studied health coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. During her teenage years, she completed the Teens Film & TV Program at the Australian Film and Television Academy (TAFTA).

Saskia started acting professionally while she was still in primary school. Her early screen work included the children’s television series The Gift. In 2008, she appeared as Beth in Mark Loves Sharon.
She later appeared in films such as Arctic Blast and Blame in 2010. In 2012, she played Sophie Halms in 6 Plots. Her biggest television breakthrough came when she joined Neighbours as Georgia Brooks, a role she played from 2012 to 2015, with a return in 2016.
After Neighbours, Saskia continued building her career internationally. She appeared in A Few Less Men in 2017, played Renee Davies in The Heights, and starred as Laura in the romantic film This Little Love of Mine in 2021. She also appeared in the 2024 miniseries Exposure.
