Lauren Holly Biography (Age, Height, Weight, Boyfriend & Hallmark Movies)

Lauren Holly Lauren Michael Holly was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, the daughter of two college professors, and grew up in the upstate New York hamlet of Geneva. Her upbringing was marked by contrasting events.

She had the benefit of growing up in a rural community, but she was also exposed due to her parents’ intellectual sophistication in their academic pursuits.

She travelled around Europe and spent a year in London, where she studied languages and flute at the renowned Sarah Siddons School. Holly, a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College in Westchester County, New York, attributes her passion for performing to her great-grandmother, who cultivated a family heritage of “treading the boards” on the musical theatre stages of Liverpool and London.

Dumb and Dumber (1994), starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, was Holly’s breakout film performance. Lauren captivated viewers as “Mary Swanson,” the lady who compelled Jim Carrey to follow her across the nation to confess his love.

She then got rave accolades for her portrayal in Edward Burns’ drama No Looking Back (1998) as a lady whose existence in a tiny coastal hamlet is thrown upside down by the arrival of her ex-boyfriend.

Other film credits include Sydney Pollack’s “Sabrina,” Oliver Stone’s “Any Given Sunday,” Miramax ensemble “Beautiful Girls,” Dragon the action-drama “Turbulence,”:  “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane,” The Bruce Lee Story,” “The Last Producer” “A Smile Like Yours,” “Down Periscope,” and “Entropy,”. Holly recently appeared in two Hallmark movies.

She also appeared in three seasons of NCIS as Director Jenny Shepard, alongside Mark Harmon. Holly appeared in the TNT film “King of Texas,” a version of Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” with Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden and acclaimed actor Patrick Stewart, as well as the NBC miniseries “Jackie, Ethel, Joan: Women of Camelot.”

She also appeared in David E. Kelley’s drama “Chicago Hope,” her second effort with Kelley after their highly acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning series “Picket Fences.”
