She started her acting career as a stage play actress. While she studied at Elon University, she played different roles in theatre plays. In the play Crazy For You, she played the role of Polly Baker. In Into the Woods, she played the role of Little Red Riding Hood, as Angel of Aquarius in Hair, as a storyteller in Children of Eden, as Ensemble in 110 in the Shade, performer in college, and as assistant director in Ensemble at A Grand Night for Singing.

Mason also played the role of Korie in Duck Commander: The Musical, and Katherine in Newsies.
