He is most recognized for his performances as Rock in the motion picture Straight Outta Compton, Emmett Yawners in the Cinemax television series Banshee, Errol in the FX television series Justified, and Baron Samedi in NBC’s Heroes.

He grew up in a military family and lived in various places, including Germany and Texas, before settling in Washington, D.C. for high school. Grosse played basketball and football while he was a student at Washington, D.C.’s Gonzaga College High School.

He subsequently continued playing football while still studying theatre at the University of Virginia. Grosse decided to pursue acting after college and relocated to New York City.

Grosse was cast as Errol, the nemesis of Deputy Marshal Raylan Givens, in a recurring role in the FX series Justified in 2010. On other TV programs like Heroes, Banshee, and The Brave, he also had recurrent parts. Grosse played Lawrence, a visitor to the theme park, in the critically praised HBO series Westworld in 2016.
