Story of the Hallmark Movie A Holiday Spectacular

The story is set in 1958 when a Philadelphia heiress named Maggie (Ginna Claire Mason) is engaged to a man she does not love. She puts her high-society wedding plans on hold and sneaks up to New York City to make her secret dream come true! Her secret dream is to dance live on stage in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. Though she informs her family that she is staying at the Big Apple with an approved friend from boarding school, she is actually living a totally different life than she’s ever known.

She falls in love with the city and dances with the Rockettes. Maggie meets John (Derek Klena), a young U.S. Navy photographer. Soon she finds herself caught between her life in Philadelphia and the life she enjoys in New York. Will Maggie find the courage to tell her family what she wants instead of accepting the future that was decided for her?

The Hallmark movie, A Holiday Spectacular, is set in 1958. The movie was shot on location in Upstate New York and at Radio City Music Hall.

1 Ginna Claire Mason as Maggie

Ginna Claire Mason is an American actress and singer known for her work in stage plays, television, and films. She is well-known for her role as Glinda in the Broadway stage play Wicked.

She started her acting career as a stage play actress. While she studied at Elon University, she played different roles in theatre plays. In the play Crazy For You, she played the role of Polly Baker. In Into the Woods, she played the role of Little Red Riding Hood, as Angel of Aquarius in Hair, as a storyteller in Children of Eden, as Ensemble in 110 in the Shade, performer in college, and as assistant director in Ensemble at A Grand Night for Singing. 2 Derek Klena as John

Derek Klena is a musician and actor from the United States. In the theatrical adaptation of Dogfight, he portrayed Eddie Birdlace, and in the 10th-anniversary company of Wicked on Broadway, he played Fiyero Tiggular. In 2016, he made his Broadway debut as Dmitry in Anastasia.

Klena was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 2020 for his performance as Nick Healy in Jagged Little Pill, a part he created in 2018 at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
