Tarasiuk was born in Winnipeg and is a native of Manitoba. From an early age, he had a strong interest in performing. Markian made his professional theatrical debut in Tom Dudzik’s play Over the Tavern after being discovered by the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and being cast as Rudy Pazinski, the play’s protagonist.
Tarasiuk made his film debut as a teenager in Fresh I.E’s song video Crystal and his television debut as Totobory in the CBS Kids animated series Noonbory and the Super Seven. Markian made his on-screen television debut as Brogan Van Skioh in the Disney XD film Bunks while still a student at theatre school.
His appearances on television programs such as iZombie (TV series), Supernatural, Take Two, The Murders, 50 States of Fright, and The Magicians are among his accomplishments. He has also had recurrent parts on shows including Shut Eye, Virgin River, Project Mc2, and Surface. He appeared in films for television and on the Hallmark Channel, as Wade Robson in Britney Ever After[6].
Tarasiuk made his theatrical film debut in the 2019 BYU TV original Christmas Jars, which had a limited theatrical run. For his role as Ian Maxwell in the movie, Markian was nominated for a 2021 Canadian Screen Award for Lead Actor in a Television Movie.
