Early life, Family and Relationship
Tom was born on 24th May 1938 in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. His father was a Chinese-Canadian and his mother was a Scottish-Irish Canadian by ancestry. Tommy Chong’s father was an immigrated person in the year 1930. His stay in Vancouver was only for some time and later they moved to Calgary and got settled in a place called Dog’s Patch.
He was a dropout from Crescent Heights High School from where he himself admitted they were going to get him out of the school by the school admin itself. He played the Guitar to make a living. As for his marriage life, he was married to Maxine Sneed in Canada who is of Cherokee descent in the year of 1960. They have two daughters Rae Dawn (mother Gali Lewis his previous Girlfriend) and Robbi Chong. They got divorced in the year 1970.
Later he got married to Shelby Fiddis in Los Angeles in 1975 and they were blessed with three children, Paris in 1974, Gilbran in 1981 and a daughter Precious Chong in 1968. They also had an adopted child Marcus Wyatt. Rae Dawn, Robbi, Marcus, Paris, and Precious Chong their children had an interest in the acting career too.

As for his career, his playing GUitar for a living got a little up and he was in Shades, a Calgary soul group. Later they moved to Vancouver and turned their name to Little Daddy & the Bachelors. Tom opened a Vancouver Night Club in the year 1963 and called it Blue Balls which was formerly the Alma Theatre.
He also has acted in several movies and TV shows some of the movies include Up in Smoke as Anthony in which he was also the writer and Director, In 1980 Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie he acted as Chong himself, Nice Dreams in the year of 1981, It came from Hollywood in 1983 as himself too.
