Diego Leanos is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter of Mexican heritage who goes by the stage name Lil Xan. He was born and reared in Redlands, California, in the United States. Xan battled with poverty as a youngster and eventually dropped out of high school.

Diego made money after being jobless for a period of years by cleaning streets, trafficking narcotics, and so on. He wanted to be a photographer, but once his camera was stolen, he switched to rapping. He shared his songs on social media sites like ‘SoundCloud’ and ‘YouTube,’ and he quickly established a sizable fan base.

His single ‘Betrayed’ became a great hit, propelling him to stardom. Early Life

Diego Leanos was born on September 6, 1996, in Redlands, California, USA. He also goes by the moniker ‘Shark Boi.’ Candy, his mother, reared him. There’s nothing known about his father or siblings. He grew raised in poverty and spent much of his youth in inexpensive hotels. Diego went to ‘Redland East Valley High School,’ but dropped out during his freshman year. He was jobless for many years and spent his time at home. Later, to make ends meet, he took odd jobs like street sweeping and even drug peddling.

He took up photography with the intention of making a profession out of it. Some of his pals were interested rapping, and he photographed their performances. His camera was stolen from the DJ’s booth during one of these shows, and since he couldn’t afford a new one, he decided to try rapping instead – and he was successful.

He grew up listening to music by artists such as ‘Arctic Monkeys,’ ‘Queens of the Stone Age,’ ‘Black Flag,’ ‘N.E.R.D.,’ and ‘Pharrell Williams,’ among others. His musical influences, he claims, include ‘Drake’ and ‘Mac Miller.’

Career

He started his music career in the middle of 2016. In May 2016, he published his debut single, ‘Xanny Montaya,’ on his ‘SoundCloud’ profile. ‘Kaniel, The One’ developed this. His other songs, such as ‘Sorry,’ ‘Center Fold,’ and ‘Vicodin,’ were also posted online, earning him a large fan base that grew with each new release. In September 2016, he released his mixtape ‘CITGO,’ which included songs like as “Been Bout It,” “Who Are You,” “Sling Shot,” and “OTW,” among others.

For almost two years, Xan was hooked to heavy narcotics such as ‘Xanax,’ ‘Opiates,’ and ‘Benzodiazepines.’ His professional name is derived from the medicine ‘Xanax.’ His Xanax addiction was so serious that he had to be admitted to the hospital for drug-related kidney and liver failure. He not only stopped using narcotics, but he also started a crusade against them. When he lost a buddy to drug addiction, his anti-drug crusade became even more fervent. As a consequence of his effort, many of his admirers have stopped using narcotics. During his anti-drug campaign, he planned to alter his stage name to Diego, but he wasn’t sure, so he stuck with ‘Lil Xan.’

In June 2017, he released an EP with three songs: ‘Heart Broke,’ ‘Betrayed,’ and ‘Pink Roses.’ With 148 million views and more than 48 million plays, the song ‘Betrayed’ quickly gained fame on the internet. This is his greatest success to date, and it has positioned him as one of the year’s breakthrough talents. It debuted on the ‘Billboard Emerging Artists Chart’ and peaked at number 64 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100.’ Cole Bennett filmed and edited the official video for this song. Lil Xan’s project ‘Xanarchy,’ which contained works from ‘Mad Maxx,’ ‘Bobby Johnson,’ and ‘The Boat Brigade,’ was published in August 2017. Nick Collett’s track ‘Shamoo’ (2017) featured Xan. He is known to work alone, but he is also a member of the band ‘Low Gang,’ which is currently known as ‘Xanarchy.’ Steve Cannon is one of his group’s members. On ‘SoundCloud,’ Xan has 32 songs. ‘Sling Shot,’ his most famous song, is known for its profound philosophical meaning. After being in an automobile accident, he penned and recorded the song ‘Crash the Whip.’
