Gross began his acting career in 2006, by appearing in the television series Eve, and The Bernie Mac Show. His big break was in 2007 when he was cast in the comedy series Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. In the series, he played the role of Calvin Payne, son of Ella and Curtis. At the beginning of the series, he was a college student who rarely attended class so it took him several years to graduate. Calvin was married to Miranda and by the end of the series, Miranda demands a divorce. In the revival season of House of Payne, it is revealed that Miranda and Calvin have been going through the divorce process for several years.
Gross has appeared in other television series like Steel Magnolias, The Finder, Royal Pains, Dice City, Crisis, Grey’s Anatomy, Sleepy Hollow, Tales, Star, MacGyver, The Paynes, The Bobby Brown Story, Hawaii Five-0, and Our Kind of People.
Gross’s debut film was Meet the Browns, in which he played the lead role of Michael Brown in 2008. He has also appeared in other movies like Our Family Wedding, The Last Fall, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, The Phenom, Deuces, When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story, and Dutch.
