Jennie Garth Early Life

Garth was conceived by John and Carolyn Garth in Urbana, Illinois. When Garth was around 13 years old, the family finally moved to Glendale, Arizona after living in Tuscola, Illinois for a while. Randy James, a scout, and manager for Hollywood, quickly saw her at a local talent competition when she was studying dance and modeling.

In her freshman year, she enrolled in Greenway High School, and in her sophomore year, she moved to Apollo High School. Garth, who was adamant about becoming an actor, would get audition materials from Los Angeles, which she would work on with a nearby acting instructor named Jean Fowler. After working in Los Angeles with James during her junior year of high school, she stopped attending class to finish her high school education there.
