Early Life:
Donnie Rae Don Curry was born in Carol City, Florida, on February 16, 1995. He lived in Zone 3 of his hometown for his first 19 years of life with his parents and four brothers. Denzel Curry is of Bahamian and Native American ancestry; his mother oversees stadium security, and his father drives a truck.
He grew up listening to music like the Funkadelics, Parliament, OutKast, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye, and James Brown since his parents were huge music fans. Later, his older brother exposed him to the music of Brick Squad and Gucci Mane.
When he was in elementary school, he first started composing poems. When he was in the sixth grade, he developed an interest in rap. His close buddy Premi, whom he met at a Boys & Girls Club, taught him how to rap and flow.
Denzel Curry was dismissed from Miami’s Design and Architecture High School two years after enrolling there. He was going through a difficult period since his parents were divorcing and his siblings were away at college or looking for employment. He enrolled at Miami Carol City Senior High School after that, where he concentrated on his music and began to become well-known as a rapper. Nevertheless, even though he was preoccupied with his music and events, his parents and professors persuaded him to finish his degree in 2013.

Career:
Denzel Curry started recording his raps while still a student, putting the recordings online through his MySpace account. He heard SpaceGhostPurrp’s mixtape “Blackland Radio 66.6” around this time and was intrigued to meet him after finding out that he is also from Carol City. Mike Dece, a buddy and member of his collaborative hip-hop group “Raider Klan,” introduced him to SpaceGhostPurrp.
Denzel was accepted into the group right away after expressing a desire to join, and they soon began performing live gigs together. On September 24, 2011, he released his debut mixtape, “King Remembered Underground Tape 1991-1995,” a collection of five songs, online. His buddy Dece suggested he remove it, add additional songs, and re-upload it to the band’s website, where it was subsequently made downloadable in response to fan requests.
His music career was launched by the success of his first mixtape, and in 2012 he released another mixtape titled “King of the Mischievous South Vol. 1 Underground Tape 1996” to continue the momentum. The mixtape got the eye of other Odd Future label members including Earl Sweatshirt, who tweeted about it. After Trayvon Martin, who shared his neighborhood and attended the same school as him, was killed, he released his third mixtape, ‘Strictly for My R.V.I.D.X.R.Z.’ This album was directly inspired by “Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z.” by Tupac Shakur.
He disbanded the band “Raider Klan” in 2013 and began working to build his solo career. The group was dissolved when he said in an interview that he had chosen to quit, contrary to what many people believed. On September 3, 2013, he released his first full-length album, “Nostalgic 64,” which included JK the Reaper, Lil Ugly Mane, Mike G, Nell, Robb Bank$, Stephen A. Clark, and Yung Simmie among other artists.
He appeared on two songs in 2014: “Eyes of the World” from Dillon Cooper’s “X: XX” mixtape, and “Bow Down” from Deniro Farrar’s “Rebirth” EP. On January 1, 2015, he released the first track, “Ultimate,” off his debut double EP, “32 Zel/Planet Shrooms.” The album, which includes the song “Ice Age,” was published by C9 Records on June 9, 2015. After releasing the non-album single “Flying Nimbus” with Lofty305 in 2016, he then published his second full-length album, “Imperial,” on March 9, 2016, which was freely downloadable and streamable on SoundCloud. Later, on October 14, 2016, a deluxe edition of the album was once again made available on Spotify.
He has been posting mysterious comments on social media under the alias Zeltron since May 2017, and he has also made demos of the songs “Hate Government,” “Equaliser,” and “ZELTRON 6 BILLION feat. Lil Ugly Mane.” The EP “13,” which was published on June 25, 2017, included each of these tracks as well as two brand-new ones. Midway through 2017, he also revealed plans for his forthcoming studio album, ‘Ta13oo,’ which would be released in 2018. It incorporates the number 13 as a sample. Since then, he has posted two demo clips of the songs “Sumo” and “SKY WALKER,” even though it is unclear if these songs will appear on his future album.
