He is the son of Tommie Epps and Mary Reed. His father Tommy Epps passed away, unfortunately. He moved to Brooklyn to star in Def Comedy Jam in his adulthood by the year of 1994.

Success and career
Mike Epps had his first on-screen appearance in the, Vin Diesel’s second directorial movie named Strays in the year of 1997 and in the year of 1999 he was in the cast of Next Friday as Ice Cube’s co-star. Later of which there were weeks of auditions when Ice cube has been in a stand-up set Epps did he asked him for acting in the role of Day-Day Jones.
In the later parts of that year, Epps had a cameo role in 3 strikes and he supported Jamie Foxx in Bait. Mike Epps had a voice role in the movie Dr. Dolittle 2 as Sonny the Bear in the year of 2001. He completed the year with his role as comical pimp Baby Powder in How High starring as Method man and Redman. He also got back with Ice Cube in All About the Benjamins as the bumbling thief to Ice Cube’s bounty hunter.
Later he again teamed up with Ice-cube Friday After Next which is Friday’s second sequel. He has done voicing in the movie, Open Season 2 after Martin Lawrence declined the role of another bear character Boog in the year of 2008. Epps also released a stand-up comedy special, Under Rated & Never Faded,and has also hosted the BET Hip Hop Awards in the year of 2010.
He started along with Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston in the year of 2012 and in the remake of Sparkle which is in the first non-comedic role as Satin the main antagonist, a stand-up comic at the day and a drug kingpin who is abusive by the nights.
