Later, following this role in Downton Abbey between the years 2012 to 2015 which is a period drama series she got her film breakthrough in the year 2015 acting as Cinderella in the movie Cinderella.

Early life, Family and Relationship
Lily James, the English actress was born in Surrey and her father James aka Jamie was a musician whereas her mother Ninette Mantle was an actress.
She has an elder and younger brother which makes her sibling count two. Lily’s paternal grandma was an actress too who was an American and she is Helen Horton. Her maternal grandmother was of French ancestry and she has fled from her village which was near Paris due to the Nazis and she later married Lily’s grandfather who was a minister in the RAF.
On completing her studies at the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and graduating she went to London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the year 2010 and signed up with Tavistock Wood management in London shortly after her graduation.
