Early life, Family and Relationship
James McAvoy was born in Glasgow on 21st April in the year 1979. His father was a bus driver and his mother was a Psychiatric nurse; she passed away in the year 2018. He was brought up as a Roman Catholic and his parents got separated when he was a seven-year-old child and were officially divorced when he was just an eleven-year-old child.
As James’ mother had been suffering from really ill-health he was sent to his mother’s parents i.e. his grandparents’ house. They were Mary and John Johnstone who were residing in the neighbourhood Drumchapel area of Glasgow. He just got visits from his mother and as for his schooling, he has attended the Catholic St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in the Jordanhill area of Glasgow.
He also once wanted to be embracing the priesthood. During his time of education, he worked at a local bakery. He wanted to join the was also offered a place to study acting at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD, now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). In the year 2000, he left for London after graduation.

Jame McAvoy started acting with his debut at the age of fifteen years in The Near Room in the year 1995. He admitted he was much interested in pursuing an acting career and wanted to study acting after he started to develop feelings for his co-star, Alana Brady.
