He began as a producer in high school then began rapping after being unsuccessful in that area of business. Early Life
On May 15, 1997, he was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and was given the name Omar Jeffery Pineiro. His mother is Hispanic, while his father is of mixed ancestry. He relocated to Miami (Dade County), Florida, with his family when he was three years old.
In one of his interviews, he stated that the neighbourhood where he grew up was not a nice one, with a lot of criminal activity and violence. In childhood and high school, he characterised himself as a peaceful guy surrounded by many sorts and groupings of individuals.
Smoke started taking drugs when he was young. He began smoking marijuana when he was eight years old and began using Xanax when he was sixteen. He even sold Xanax for a while. In Miami, he attended North Gardens High School. He began seriously pursuing music in high school and eventually became a music producer. After experiencing success in music, he dropped out in his senior year of high school.
Career
He began making music in high school. He used to produce music using the DWA FL Studio software. Smoke disliked the attention that came with being a rapper and thus preferred to work behind the scenes as a producer. He has admitted in numerous interviews that he failed to find success as a producer because his beats were poor and no one wanted to rap over them. After failing to find success as a producer, he began rapping over his own instrumentals.
In July 2015, he submitted his debut song on the internet audio sharing network ‘SoundCloud,’ but erased it because he believed it lacked quality. Soon after, he released his second single, ‘Live off a lick,’ on SoundCloud, featuring rapper XXXTentacion. ‘Sam$ung Jumpin’ was his first successful SoundCloud track. His second SoundCloud smash was the song ‘Ski Mask,’ which went viral and had millions of views.
In the media and music business, he is known as a ‘SoundCloud rapper.’ His musical style has been labelled as ‘Lo-fi rap’ and/or ‘trap.’ Lyrical allusions to drug addiction, expensive automobiles, gang violence, and sexual activities appear often in his songs.

Following the release of his mixtape ‘Deadstar,’ he signed with Cactus Jack Records.
On September 28, 2017, he released his mixtape ‘Deadstar,’ which includes collaborations with artists including as Chief Keef, Juicy J, Travis Scott, Yo Gotti, D.R.A.M., and Lil Pump. TM88, Ronny J, and Harry Fraud are among the renowned producers on this mixtape. He received a chain as a reward for signing with Travis Scott’s label Cactus Jack Records after the release of this mixtape.
Deadstar, a mixtape, debuted at number 42 on the Billboard 200 albums list. Deadstar debuted at number 24 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums list and number 16 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart. It peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Canada Albums list. There have been leaks of songs and lyrics allegedly from various tracks on the mixtape, however Smokepurpp has yet to confirm that these leaks are genuine. On December 25, 2017, a song named ‘Distance’ was leaked on SoundCloud, claiming to be from the ‘Deadstar 2’ mixtape.
In March 2018, he unveiled a new project in an interview with Canadian music critic ‘Nardwuar.’ The latest project is a mixtape called ‘Sound of Space,’ and the release date has yet to be determined.
