She has also played B. D. Hyman in the FX series Feud: Bette and Joan (2017), Jinora in The Legend of Korra (2012–2014). Along with countless other movies, Shipka has also acted in Carriers (2009), Flowers in the Attic (2014), The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015), and The Silence (2019).

Early Life
John Young Shipka, a real estate entrepreneur, and Erin Ann Brennan welcomed Kiernan Brennan Shipka into the world in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of five, Shipka enrolled in ballroom dance lessons, and as of March 2012, she was still going. In order to support her acting career, her family moved to Los Angeles, California when she was six years old.
Career
Shipka made her broadcast debut on the medical drama ER at the age of five months. When she was a baby, she also started posing for advertisements. Her first significant television role was as Sally Draper, the protagonist Don Draper’s daughter, in the 2007–2015 TV series Mad Men. She had previously had a number of minor television appearances. After two auditions, she was chosen for the part. For the first three seasons of the programme, she appeared often as a guest star before switching to a permanent role in season four.
She earned the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2008 and 2009 when she was a member of Mad Men’s ensemble cast. For her work on Mad Men, Shipka got recognition.
Dale Roe, a critic for the Austin American-Statesman, described her as his ideal candidate for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in 2010 “It seems strange that she has only recently been promoted to series regular because this 10-year-old actress made such an impact as the troubled Sally Draper last season.
This is a ballot dream that may come true the next year if Shipka’s future Mad Men work, in which she struggles with her parent’s broken marriage and enters preteenhood in the turbulent 1960s, is as outstanding as it was in season three.”
Shipka was included in Time magazine’s 2014 list of “The 25 Most Influential Teens.” She was on IndieWire’s list of “20 Actors To Watch Under 20” the same year. Shipka co-starred opposite Emma Roberts in the 2015 Oz Perkins horror thriller The Blackcoat’s Daughter. She also acted in the 2014 Lifetime film Flowers in the Attic.
In the FX television series Feud: Bette and Joan, she portrays B.D. Hyman, the daughter of Bette Davis, in 2017. It was revealed in January 2018 that Shipka will play Sabrina Spellman in the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is based on the comic book series of the same name.
On October 26, 2018, Netflix released the first portion, followed by an episode in December. The series continued for three more seasons, airing a total of 36 episodes until wrapping off on December 31, 2020. In “Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Witching Hour(s),” a sixth season Riverdale episode that aired on December 7, 2021, Shipka would reprise the role.
Shipka co-starred in Luke Snellin’s 2019 holiday romantic comedy Let It Snow, which was adapted from the same-named book. In February 2019, filming began.
After that, Shipka starred as a deaf kid alongside Stanley Tucci in John R. Leonetti’s horror movie The Silence, which was adapted from Tim Lebbon’s 2015 horror book of the same name. On April 10, 2019, Netflix published The Silence. In order to play the part, Shipka studied American Sign Language. Leonetti commended her performance and said “She’s performing beside Stanley Tucci, and trust me, she can hold her own. Watching her has been enthralling.”
Shipka received a role in the HBO political drama limited series White House Plumbers in May 2021. She portrayed Bea Johnson in the 2022 drama Wildflower, the child of two mentally handicapped adults. Shipka was chosen for the September 2022 release of Red One, which also stars Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans
