Early Life
Haller grew up on a farm in Waterloo, Ontario, with both of his siblings interested in music, although he first only played his brother’s guitar on rare occasions. After witnessing Australian singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd play live in high school, he was motivated to pursue music himself. Soon after, a teacher in Grade 11 pushed him to attend a talent contest, and he started creating songs.
Career
Haller started his musical career by spending seven years with Kira Isabella’s live band. Haller moved in with Maudsley and the Reklaws’ Stuart Walker after meeting Callum Maudsley, a guitarist in the live band. He then began travelling for three years as the Reklaws’ acoustic guitar player, and he credits them with teaching him “how the business works.” After the COVID-19 epidemic, Haller focused entirely on his solo career, signing with Starseed Entertainment in 2021.
In March 2021, Haller released his first song “Lightning in a Bottle,” which went on to become his first top 10 hit on the Billboard Canada Country chart. He released the promotional song “Grew Up On,” in June 2021 and in September 2022, he released his second radio single “Somewhere to Drink,” which featured Brett Kissel and the Reklaws. In 2021, Haller was a semi-finalist in Sirius XM’s “Top of the Country” competition.
Haller released the promotional single “Broken” in January 2022, followed by his third radio single “Ain’t Like Me” in May 2022. He was named “Rising Star” at the 2022 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards and was nominated for the same award at the 2022 CCMA Awards.
