Roger Cross Biography (Age, Height, Weight, Girlfriend, Family, Career & Hallmark Movies)
He was born in Jamaica and spent the first 11 years of his life there. He then relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with his mother, father, two sisters, and two brothers. Roger earned a degree in Aviation and General Studies from Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia.
He also studied acting in school, but in 1990, while waiting for a flying job, he worked as a stuntman. He then enrolled at Breck Academy to study acting. His first film role was in “The International Rescue,” which was shot in China, Vietnam, and Burma.
Roger Cross is a Jamaican-born Canadian actor who just completed filming for the part of Detective ‘Mac’ McAvoy in season two of the CBC’s blockbuster drama series Coroner. On the show Dark Matter, he played Number Six. He appeared in the first two seasons of Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain. In the iconic American television series 24, he played CTU Agent Curtis Manning.
Roger Cross was a fan of the program before he became a star in it. In an interview with Wiki 24, he said that his favourite characters were “Jack Bauer and President [David] Palmer.” He opted to audition for the part of Curtis Manning after being urged by his agent. Roger was asked back for a second audition with co-creator Joel Surnow and the casting director after the first. He found out the following day that he had received the role.
According to him, the character was originally planned to be a six-part arc during Season 4, but the role was subsequently enlarged and he became a member of the main cast. Cross noted in our interview that when Surnow told him about the intentions for his job, he was “smiling but doing cartwheels inside.” Throughout Season 5, he remained a member of the main cast.
Cross appeared as a guest star in Season 6. He’d previously been told that Curtis’ character will be murdered off in the first four episodes. Curtis’ death sparked great debate since several people felt his actions were out of character. Despite his disagreement, Cross has lauded the show, calling it a “wonderful experience” and “extremely rewarding.”
In X-Men 2, he plays a Secret Service agent (2003). Kiefer Sutherland in The Sentinel (2006); Jude Ciccolella in Head of State (2003); Xander Berkeley, Timothy Carhart, and Glen Morshower in Air Force One (1997); and Michael O’Neill in multiple episodes of The West Wing are other 24 (2001) cast members who have portrayed Secret Service officers (1999).

Career:
Roger Cross was born in Jamaica and lived there until the age of eleven, when his family relocated to Canada’s west coast, settling in Vancouver. There were no indications of his interest in acting in his early years. In reality, he graduated with a degree in Aviation and General Studies from Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia. He has said that he became interested in acting merely out of “curiosity” and as something to do “just for fun.” He started out as a part-time stunt performer.
It’s generally a long road from extra or stunt performer to being given a starring part in a series. Early on in his career, Roger Cross had tiny parts in both series and made-for-television movies. Roles in which he was identified by what he was rather than who he was. Fire Rescue Leader, Officer #2, Guard, or Paramedic are examples of roles. He featured in four episodes of The X-Files, although he played a new character each time.
He portrayed Agent Rice in one, Officer Green in another, Lieutenant Brophy in a third, and Private Kittel in the fourth. This is common when the parts are tiny and the casting director isn’t concerned about the actor being identified as having previously been on the program as someone else. In response to his love of aviation and his need for something to do simply for pleasure, he must have appreciated being cast as “a Pilot” in Look Who’s Talking Now in 1993.
But that long route was also a sure one, as his parts became bigger, and the more screen time he had, the more likely it was that other directors and producers seeking for a brilliant new face would notice him. In 1998, he had been in the business for roughly nine years when he was given his first co-starring role in the series First Wave. Sebastian Spence, Rob LaBelle, and Traci Lords costarred in the Canadian series, which was filmed in Vancouver.
Cross is most recognized for his portrayal as Jack Bauer’s fellow agent, Curtis Manning (shown above), in the TV show 24. He appeared in 45 episodes between 2005 and 2007. Cross was most recently seen as Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom in the first two seasons of the CTV series Motive.
Roger Cross, blessed with a beautiful voice, has appeared in video games such as Index, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and BioShock Infinite in recent years. He is most known for his role as Detective Donovan McAvoy in the television series Coroner.
