The famous actress Koel was born in Kolkata to Bengali film actor Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick of Kolkata’s famous Mallick Bari, Bhowanipore, known for his Durga Puja. Koel has spent her schooling life at the Modern High School for Girls and she completed a B.Sc. Honors in Psychology from Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College. This college is affiliated with the University of Calcutta.

Career & Success Story

She is an Indian actress who mainly appears in Bengali Film Industry. Koel starts her film career with the film Nater Guru. She debut with her first film. It was released in 2003, marked Mallick’s entry into Tollywood. She achieved her first award for Best Actor in Leading Role Female from the 4th Tele Cine Awards 2004 for Nater Guru.

In her debut film Nater Guru release the pair have worked together often, appearing in eleven films. She starred in Debipaksha, Shudhu Tumi, Badsha The King and Bandhan, and many more in 2004. A huge success in Bengal and was a blockbuster at the box office for the film Bandhan acted by Koel Mallick. In 2004 it was also the highest-grossing Bengali film.

Koel Mallick appeared in Shubhodrishti, Manik, Yuddho, and Chore Chore Mastuto Bhai in 2004. Opposite actors Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy appeared in Yuddha. She also acts a more serious role in MLA Fatakeshto in which she played a reporter in 2006. She also starred in the Bengali remake of Love Story, in the 2008 film Love.
